Application Review & Processing:
Assess and process LIHEAP applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Follow up with applicants to obtain necessary documentation.Client Support & Outreach:
Communicate with clients, utility vendors, and external agencies regarding program services, eligibility requirements, and application status. Participate in outreach efforts to inform the community about available assistance.Documentation & File Management:
Maintain accurate and secure client records, both digital and physical. Complete general clerical duties including filing, scanning, copying, mailing, and data entry.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with co-workers within the Family Impact Unit and across departments to support a collaborative and inclusive team environment.Diverse Engagement:
Interact effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks as assigned related to the scope of the role.Any combination of education and/or experience to a High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Two years of experience in human services, counseling, crisis intervention, or a closely related field.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related discipline.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage stress and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
Proficiency in basic math, data entry, and working within a Windows-based computer system.

Lee County Human and Veteran Services is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Eligibility Specialist to join our Family Impact Unit, supporting the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This role plays a vital part in helping community members by reviewing and processing applications to determine eligibility for energy assistance.Required:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
