      Job Summary

      Alaska Overview
      ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2023. The company produced an average of 195 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOED) in 2023. ConocoPhillips Alaska holds major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest legacy equivalent per day conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips Alaska owns and operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company also has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and owns and operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

      Job Description

      The Emerging Technology Coordinator is part of the Alaska Business Unit Control team and has a critical role in delivering analytics for Alaska Finance. This position will drive digital innovation and facilitate delivery of data analytics and visualizations and other digital automation solutions for Alaska Finance.

      Your responsibilities may include:

      • Collaborates across Alaska Finance to identify strategic intra-discipline and cross-discipline digitalization and innovation opportunities
      • Liaises with Corporate and other Business Units in delivering best solutions for Alaska Finance
      • Uses interviewing techniques when interacting with subject matter experts to fully understand business problems, current processes, and opportunities to enhance or resolve through analytics and technology
      • Supports and coordinates development of a broad range of analytics tools and reports, including dashboards, metrics & KPI’s, and other data visualization tools that provide insights to support financial analysis
      • Supports and coordinates development of automation tools such as robotics and ensures successful end-to-end delivery
      • Coordinates training and knowledge sharing through interactive working sessions on various analytics-related topics and technologies (i.e. Spotfire, Power BI, Python, data querying and integration, etc.)
      • Administers Oracle EPM, which includes month-end close actuals update as well as periodic forecast and budget updates
      • Provides support with the transition to the new SAP environment, including building reports in the new environment, involving tools, such as Power BI
      • Adheres to proper change management standards and leverages lineage views to avoid unintended reporting impact
      • Uses analytical skills to design solutions to solve complex problems
      • Expected to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage priorities across concurrent projects
      • Special projects / assignments as needed

      Basic/Required:

      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, IT or related field or foreign equivalent
      • Intermediate level proficiency with standard desktop software, including SAP, Oracle, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

      Preferred:

      • 3 or more years of oil and gas industry experience
      • 3 or more years of finance experience
      • 1 or more years of business analysis experience, including the ability to interview personnel across business functions, understand complex problems, and translate business needs into working solutions
      • 1 or more years experience with delivering solutions through the entire project lifecycle including initiation, development, implementation, and support
      • 1 or more years experience with delivering Business Intelligence tools such Spotfire or PowerBI and teaching others how to use the tools
      • 1 or more years experience with a broad range of analytics techniques, from fundamental capabilities such as dashboarding and basic data visualization, to deeper capabilities such as machine learning
      • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Advanced oral and written communications skills
      • Able to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize numerous tasks, act independently, and be held accountable for commitments
      • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
      • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
      • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
