      Job Description: Employment Law Paralegal

      Downtown Law Firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to support its attorneys with litigation, administrative, and legal tasks in a dynamic, hybrid work environment. This non-exempt position reports to the Director of Litigation Support Services and requires in-office presence at the San Diego office at least two days per week (three during onboarding). The ideal candidate will have strong legal knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Prepare indexes, chronologies, and privilege logs
      • Draft and organize discovery materials (e.g., interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas)
      • Summarize deposition transcripts and assist in deposition preparation
      • Review and compile documents for motions, pleadings, and court submissions
      • Coordinate and e-file pleadings in compliance with court rules
      • Assist in drafting answers to complaints, settlement agreements, and client correspondence
      • Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, public records, and internet sources
      • Manage and coordinate document productions (including Bates stamping and redaction)
      • Maintain and update client portals and electronic document systems
      • Format and proofread legal documents, including TOCs/TOAs
      • Support trial preparation, including exhibit organization and indexing
      • Prepare mediation submissions and track incoming documents from clients and courts
      • Perform E-Discovery tasks, including searches and uploads
      • Provide litigation secretarial support as needed
      • Handle other duties as assigned by supervisor

      Required Skills And Qualifications

      • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience
      • Strong knowledge of law firm procedures and court rules
      • Excellent grammar, proofreading, and formatting skills
      • High attention to detail and organizational ability
      • Proficiency in Westlaw, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
      • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment
      • Flexibility to work additional in-office days as needed for business coverage

      Desired Skills and Experience

      • Prepare for mediations, depositions, and trial (organize exhibits, support attorneys)
      • Coordinate and e-file court submissions in compliance with court rules
      • Maintain client portals and document systems
      • Provide litigation secretarial support and handle other duties as assigned
