      CONTEXT

      The position is part of the Group CIO activities, covering IT Strategy and governance, Technology and Architecture Strategy (Group CTO) and piloting Global Program of transformation on key technologies (eg Network).

      The Group CTO team is in charge as part of the Group CIO/CTO mandate of the (i) definition of the Architecture Strategy as part of Group IT strategy (this covering also the Business Architecture area) , (ii) animate and coordinate local CTOs in entities to ensure Local entities maintaining and developing local Architecture based on Group Architecture Principles, (iii) Co lead with the Group CIO the Group IT governance with a lead on Group Architecture Governance and co leading with Group CIO twice a year a dialog to support local entities to keep their priorities and ensure proper Architecture governance, (iv) support the Group IT Financial Strat Plan by ensuring that Architecture transformation plan (included decommissioning & technical debt management) are integrated in the financial trajectory of each entities

      Group Enterprise Architecture function is covering 2 main areas:

      • Define, Design and Govern the Enterprise Architecture for AXA to support the Group Business strategy.

      • Support local entities to align their local Enterprise Architecture with Group Target

      The Enterprise Architect Lead Expert needs to have a very good understanding:

      • Financial and Insurance Business

      • Large knowledge on technology evolution

      • Capacity to understand Insurance economics in order to define the appropriate Architecture Strategy trajectory aligned with Business and IT strategy

      Main activities of the Enterprise Architect Lead Expert are:

      • (i) Definition of the Enterprise Architecture of the Group : Aligned with the Business and IT strategy , the Enterprise Architect Lead Expert will support the definition of the Target Enterprise Architecture at the beginning of each Strategic Planning period and review main principles each year to ensure proper alignment (the Enterprise Architect will work on all architecture Dimension (Business Architecture, Application Architecture, Data Architecture , Technology Architecture) and also transversal dimension like Security. He will be also a custodian of given Architecture Domain to define (Architecture Principles, Standards and Target Architecture Model).

      • (ii) Supporting the Group CTO by animating and coordinating a group of local CTOs across the world in their daily job. He will ensure that Group Principles and Standards are well integrated at local level, participating in local Architecture Strategy definition. Identification of key local transformation impacting the Architecture (support the local entity to define priorities, sequence of modernization, … ). He will ensure alignment between Business Strategy and IT Strategy with a strong focus on development of the Business Architecture function to address (Business processes definition, Operating Model definition and key Operational KPI).

      • (iii) Contributing actively to the Group CIO /CTO governance especially on Architecture governance side, by supporting local entities under his responsibility to define the appropriate Architecture governance for large transformation under supervision of Group Processes and also local Architecture Governance on key project having a large impact on Architecture evolution.

      • (iv) By supporting the local entities to define their Architecture strategy, the Enterprise Architect Lead Expert will have also to ensure that relevant financial estimation are made and integrated in the Financial Plan of the local entity to ensure the maintenance of the Information Landscape (integrating technical debt management but also all type of debt (eg application , data …).

      PROFILE

      Experience

      • Strong experience in IT Strategy, enterprise and solution architecture (at least 15 years)

      • Experience on solutions architecture designs for very large projects/environments with good understanding of the Insurance Value chain

      • Strong change management skills with practical experience of transformation in an international environment

      • Financials (principles, business cases, budgeting, business-planning, savings)

      • Strives for excellence with deliverables of high quality and ability to work in sometimes tight planning

      • Demonstrates being a strong team member with a collaborative mind-set.

      • Business knowledge of the insurance or other fast changing industry and ability to conduct research.

      • IT knowledge and understanding of related transformation disciplines (e.g. strategic planning, portfolio management, change management etc).

      • Knowledge of related architecture or operational disciplines (e.g. data architecture, product or process design).

      Technical skills

      • Expert knowledge in Enterprise Architecture and IT strategy definition

      • Ability to execute evolution of the Enterprise Architecture through strategic thinking, in addition to possessing strong business, technical, and financial acumen.

      • Expertise in the areas like Business (Lines of Business) or Technical (related to technologies (eg : API or Cloud)

      • Good understanding of emerging model or platform design needed to fit the new or emerging business models, operating models, and modern technologies such as platform business, API business, cloud architecture, master data management, distributed ledgers, artificial intelligence, and machine learning (or any new emerging technologies).

      Soft skills

      • Leadership – Exhibits strong results orientation, change leadership, adaptability and the ability to drive collaborative behaviour (he is not a teacher, he is not a consultant), he is a partner enabling trustful environment and providing respected advice.

      • Vision – Demonstrates architectural vision and beliefs and can express them clearly, champion them, and debate his point of view in on-line forums or in-person workshops.

      • Communication skills – Exhibits strong skills in listening, spoken and written communication, collaboration, and the ability to work in a global team. Enterprise Architects are expected to have to ability to understand and discuss with both senior managers and IT and explain in clear language complicated architectural concepts and strategies.

      • Openness and reaching out – Strong human relationship skills, exhibit curiosity and can see opportunities in situations, not just problems.

      • International profile – A proven ability to work effectively in an international environment, capacity to understand cultural difference in decision process and execution. In addition, exhibits a strong proficiency in English.

      • Influence – Strong skills in influence, consultation, and negotiating ability.

      • Analytical, logical and interpretive ability – Ability to interpret scenarios, express concepts or models and maintain consistency.
