  We offer a unique perspective into the world of food manufacturing with a 12-week paid internship in our Environmental Health and Safety group in Ames, IA. As a key player on the team, the EHS Intern will be exposed to several core competencies within the Safety field.

  Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with performing safety kaizen events to improve EHS
  • Assist in inventory and review of the site’s permit required confined spaces
  • Deliver training built by EHS professional to site BART team to improve their skills
  • Assist in the documentation of root cause investigations and assist EHS professional verify completion of action items.
  • Assist in the review of site EMS programs
  • Assist EHS professional as needed in day to day EHS activities
  • Perform routine EHS walks to identify potential EHS concerns and verify that prior CAPA plans are in place and being maintained.

  
  Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Prefer some with a background/experience with EHS or focus on engineering, mechanics, or industrial technology.
  • Familiar/proficient with Microsoft Office
