- Works jointly with training program manager, project managers and other IT teams to efficiently implement cross-functional projects and support departmental/organizational goals.
- Provides mentorship and counseling to junior staff regarding talent development and employee relations matters.
- Manages support requests through IT Service Management system. Prioritize, delegate, track and resolve end-user support requests with a sense of urgency, problem solve escalated tasks.
- Reviews the status of projects and issues on ongoing basis with manager; ensure project timelines are adhered to and implement plans of action as necessary.
- Facilitates weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, and upcoming milestones.
- Develop role-based training content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Design, develop and maintain instructional materials.
- Maintain policy and procedure documentation.
- Learn new content and consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop training materials and answer any participant questions.
- Assist with building and testing of training environments, and provide support and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with other trainers by co-facilitating classroom instruction and assisting with exercises as needed.
- Prepare training lessons, printing materials, and set up the training room and environment prior to the training session.
- Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
- Follow up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support.
- Serve as an expert educator to internal staff.
- Train and credential additional classroom trainers as needed.
- Train staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed.
- Manage projects by prioritizing projects and by creating and adhering to timelines. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
- Must be able to have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, and administrative documents.
- Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, twist, turn, finer and feel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous leadership experience in clinical settings and/or IT Project Management in EHR Updates, Upgrades and Builds.
- Previous experience successfully leading large-scale projects.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member across multiple teams.
- Ability to develop, document and ensure adherence to technical standards.
- Ability to independently research and perform analysis to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to understand business requirements and their impact on technical directions of a solution.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to manage one’s own work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Must be able to maintain professionalism and react to customers appropriately while exhibiting high level of customer service.
- Solid understanding of clinical workflows and terminology in ambulatory setting. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Working knowledge of EMRs and other healthcare applications.
- Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.
- Strong understanding of healthcare business processes and technology preferred.
- Healthcare IT experience in ambulatory care settings a definite plus.
- Working knowledge of IT solutions and interfacing a definite plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical area or business area to be supported highly preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of work experience, supporting HIT applications required.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience working with EHRs preferred.
- Must obtain certification in Epic Principal Trainer within 3 months of employment.
- Epic certification must be continuously maintained.
Epic Training Team Lead assists Epic Training Program Manager with providing oversight of development and maintenance of GVHC Epic training program. The Team Lead works collaboratively with training manager, application manager, project managers, clinical specialty champions and nurse champions to deliver outstanding training content that is targeted and effective.
Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Compensation:
$30.65- $32.18 an hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work indoors, primarily in an office setting. The noise level inside is quiet to average. Use of general office equipment is required on a daily basis. Travel may be required at times.
