- The Equipment Operator will contribute to a coke-handling team by operating several pieces of equipment that will help move, stockpile, and prepare petroleum coke for distribution
- Operate any one of the following on a daily basis: a CAT 980 Loader (or equivalent) and a CAT D8 (or equivalent) Dozer
- Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations; i.e. maintenance, clean-up, safety observations and inspections
- Perform thorough pre and post-trip inspections
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment
- Expand personal knowledge of operating equipment
- Report maintenance issues to the maintenance crew
- Understand our critical service requirements and see they are met
- Take an active role in our safety program including attendance at all safety meetings and ensure safe behaviors
- Ensure environmental compliance
- Extensive experience operating large pieces of heavy equipment
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Because this position operates in the Port of Corpus Christi, candidates:
- Must meet standards for entering the Port, i.e. clean criminal history, ability to pass a drug screen, possess a current Driver's License and TWIC card at the time of applying
- Should understand best practices of maintaining and safely operating Heavy Equipment
- Must be safety-conscious and understand safe work practices
- Must be comfortable with heights including the ability to walk up and down conveyor belt lines and climb ladders
- Equipment Operators are routinely required to work outdoors and as a result are exposed to the elements.
- Must be physically able to handle large tools and equipment (60 lbs.)
- Climb on and off the equipment
- Ascend and descend ladders
- Is comfortable with heights
- Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays
