- Gain a deep understanding of the real estate industry, individual companies, stock-selection and the capital markets
- Analyze quarterly financial results; build and maintain company earnings models and forecasts
- Work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
- Build a wide network of contacts across the REIT sector, real estate industry, Wells Fargo and the global investment community
- Create and edit research reports that provide unique and differentiated investment perspectives to Wells Fargo’s client base
- Analyze data to generate proprietary analyses supporting research reports, stock-picking and investor information requests
- Help organize and host in-person and virtual meetings and events such as property tours, REIT headquarter visits, roadshows with REIT management teams, and fireside chats with industry leaders
- Collaborate with Wells Fargo peers across the Wells Fargo Securities platform and entire firm
- 2+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field
- Direct experience within the industry or equity research industry specific sector - REITs - Lodging and Retail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
- Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
- Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
- Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- Highly inquisitive and eager to learn about the equity research industry and real estate sector
- Up to 20% travel
- Registration for FINRA Series 86 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 87 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- Registration for FINRA Securities Industry Exam (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.
In this position you will partner with the Senior Analyst covering the Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Industry with a particular focus on the Lodging and Retail subsectors to create industry-leading and market-moving equity research content. Primary responsibilities include conducting the fundamental equity research process for the purpose of providing differentiated industry and stock-specific content, including building and maintaining financial estimates, maintaining financial databases, and writing reports on companies under coverage and key industry themes. The Associate will need to build strong relationships not only with Equity Research colleagues, but also with Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, Wealth Management, and others.
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
