      Pay Grade: $28.81/hour

      General Statement:

      The Event Sales Planner is responsible for sales and event coordination of corporate and social events for all available indoor and outdoor venues at the Phoenix Zoo, and providing exceptional guest service through all stages of events.

      Essential Duties:

      1. Provide quality guest service to both internal and external guests by maintaining a WILD (friendly, helpful, positive and professional) working attitude and appearance.
      2. Solicit business from corporate and social market segments through cold calling, correspondences and business client location visits.
      3. Responsible for corporate and social event sales from inquiries, site tours to contracts. Perform corporate and social event detailing including final appointments and ceremony rehearsals.
      4. Solicit and plan for all aspects of school events such as proms, graduations, etc.
      5. Communicate on upcoming-booked events and client specifications and coordinate event execution with Events Operations Manager and/or Event Facilitator as needed.
      6. Serve as onsite event manager during events as determined by Events Operations Manager. Supervises all required event staff (setup/teardown crew, bartenders and vendors), as needed.
      7. Ensure safety, cleanliness and organization of equipment and supplies during and after breakdown of events.
      8. Attend industry meetings and join networking groups (SGMP).

      Qualifications


      1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
      2. Must be very organized and have good communication skills.
      3. Previous event coordination experience preferred.
      4. Must demonstrate leadership ability and able to work well as a team player
      5. Must be able to perform with little or no supervision.
      6. Must be able to be on feet a majority of shift.
      7. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
      8. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
      9. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
      10. Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug test and DMV check.
