- Screens all incoming calls and mail for the Director and the Executive Office of the Director. Disseminates information as appropriate or solicits input from leadership for an accurate and timely response on agency-related matters, when needed. Maintains files on correspondence related to program areas and ensures timely response. Maintains files on current issues affecting the agency. Coordinates all travel arrangements and facilitates travel expense reporting.
- Maintains the Director’s calendar to include scheduling of meetings with legislators, agency staff, stakeholders, and general public. Drafts letters, memos, and email responses on behalf of the Director. Drafts and disseminates meetings agendas. Attends meetings and documents meeting minutes.
- Serves as liaison between Director and agency staff on administrative activities. Responds to inquiries and complaints. Represents the agency in contact with other agency officials for the purpose of coordinating various agency programs. Schedules appointments as needed and coordinates signatures on written responses where applicable.
- Research information requested by House/Senate members, their staff, or the general public. Plans and conducts specialized programs.
- Other duties as required.
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in a government agency or a related field; or a combination of education and experience.
Strong communication and customer service skills and demonstrate strong ethics.
Proficient in Office 365 (including, but not limited to, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS).
