Job Description

- Develop a communications narrative for the CMO to propel her vision and strategy with employees, share her perspective with key stakeholders, and amplify our most compelling stories to internal and external audiences -- drafting messages that reflect the CMO’s voice and align with Autodesk’s goals
- Build on and execute against a comprehensive internal and employee communications strategy for the CMO and other executive leaders, which includes developing content for company-wide events, all-hands presentations, leadership communications, corporate announcements, keynotes, and other cadenced communications for internal audiences
- Partner with the PR team to help develop a list of external speaking and thought leadership opportunities, and help execute those opportunities
- Prepare briefing materials for internal communications moments/engagements
- Partner with PR on compelling talking points and help deliver briefing materials for external media opportunities
- Partner with the brand PR team to support the planning communications moments and events
- Oversee the CMO’s social media program, developing compelling posts and cross-channel video content that elevates the Autodesk brand and amplifies our impact – using creativity to test new mediums across social
- Create high-quality content for target audiences, including speeches, scripts, blog posts, and op-eds, and collaborate with the communications and creative teams to produce multimedia content that supports Autodesk’s messages
- Use your understanding of current communications best practices and trends to develop fresh ideas for internal and external communications
- Manage the CMO’s communications editorial calendar to ensure cohesion between priorities and activities
- Track and analyze the impact of communications plans and adjust strategies accordingly
- Provide regular updates and reports on the effectiveness of communication efforts
- Executive communications professional with at least 8 years of experience, and experience developing strategic communications plans to amplify a senior executive’s platform
- An exceptional writer, who can simplify complex topics for diverse audiences, understand business context, and create clear, high-quality messaging for diverse channels and audiences
- Experience developing visual content and presentations for large teams
- Experience supporting social media and thought leadership for senior-level executives
- Experience working with senior executives and a track record of building credibility and trust with leadership
- Experience working with press, influencers, and stakeholders in the media landscape
- Familiarity with digital media tools and platforms, including social media, video production, and enterprise collaboration tools
- A detail-oriented professional with project management skills, dedication to excellence and a sense of pride in high-quality work
- Knowledge of Autodesk’s business and industries, and experience working in technology companies
- Graphic design and visual storytelling skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft enterprise and communications tools, Slack, and Proze a bonus, but not required

Position Overview The cars you drive, the bridges you cross, the buildings you work in, the phone you use, the movies you watch, and the video games you play all have one thing in common: they were designed and made with Autodesk’s software. We are looking for an experienced executive communications professional to help tell those stories, supporting our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and other members of the executive leadership team. You will create communications strategies that amplify their vision, strategy, and goals across internal and external channels. You will have demonstrated experience supporting C-level executives, be an exceptionally strong writer, have experience developing social media and content, and be comfortable meeting quick timelines. This role can be fully remote in the United States and Canada, and reports to our Head of Brand and Marketing Communications. Responsibilities
