      WHAT YOU’LL DO

      We’re looking for an executive leader, poised to help transform learning at the intersection of equity and innovation. An intrapreneur at heart, you have a deeply honed point of view about the future of learning and seek creative and strategic ways to put the assets of Teach For America to work on behalf of accelerating that future. Reporting to the President and COO, you will draw upon the lessons of ambidextrous organizations to help to shape the innovation strategy and priorities that complement TFA’s core business alongside the core executive team.

      This senior leader wakes up every day excited about how to create engaging new products and programs that bring reinvented learning to oppressed and marginalized young people across the country. You are accountable to the design, execution, integration and scale of the future of learning products and programs that are seeded in the Reinvention Lab and brought to the broader institution and field.

      You are a credible thought leader and are excited to create and advance content and ideas that position TFA at the vanguard of teaching and learning. You’re thrilled to network, build community amongst innovators, and fundraise for the Reinvention Lab. The ideal candidate has had a career in innovation and has worked both inside and outside of Teach For America or comparable, large institution. You thrive in ambiguity and cut through complexity to drive towards impact.

      WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

      Primary responsibilities:

      Set vision and direction for the Reinvention Lab, prioritizing amongst emerging field facing problems and determining when to advance or compost possible new offerings for the organization. (25%) Lead a multigenerational team of both full time and contractors to drive R&D outcomes and model new ways of doing & being together. (25%) Advance thought leadership on the future of learning at the intersection of equity and innovation. (20%) Partner with the President/COO and core executive team to steward the priorities of the organization and ensure alignment & integration with the Reinvention Lab and enterprise. (15%) Fundraise for the operating expenses for the Reinvention Lab as well as the broader organization and steward funders and broader stakeholders to understand the future of learning. (15%)

      A WEEK IN THE LIFE

      Over the course of any week, the ED, Reinvention Lab will spend time:

      • Engaging on project teams to create new offerings, including but not limited to:
        • Collecting your own data during discovery phases to inform your own point of view about the opportunities and risks
        • Co-designing and executing tests to check assumptions and get feedback on prototypes
        • Reflecting with the project team on the data from the tests
      • Connecting with innovators across the field to network, share our work and learn from bright spots.
      • Partnering with core executive team members and regional EDs to better understand their interests, needs and pain points related to teaching and learning.
      • Meeting with funders and partners to determine opportunities for collaboration, learning and support.
      • Engaging in external engagements (ie. speaking on panels, writing Op-Eds)

      YOUR EXPERIENCE

      Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

      • Track record of result managing and leading teams, particularly amidst ambiguity
      • Experience leading human-centered design processes
      • Experience with multi-generational co-creation
      • Proficiency with the future of learning pedagogy and emerging technologies
      • Expertise in facilitation, design and public speaking

      YOUR COMPENSATION

      The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.

      Tier A: $159,400 - $255, 000

      Tier B: $173, 700 - $278, 000

      Tier C: $188, 100 - $293. 400
