- 401k – facilitate inquiries with ADP.
- ACA Compliance (Verifying ADP ACA is up to date for submittal 1095-C Forms)
- Benefit processing, including tracking associate eligibility, annual open enrollment, monthly enrollments, and qualifying event changes.
- Oversee running backgrounds, coordinating offsite drug screens, completing new hire paperwork.
- Process new hires, terminations, transfers, benefits, time clock set up, and time clock issues in ADP.
- Process invoices into Beanworks for Background checks, Rancho Runners, DMV, Cal Chambers
- Conduct employment verifications and reference checks.
- Answer associate inquiries for Ponte Winery, Ponte Vineyard Inn, Bottaia Winery and Hawks View Winery for employee relations matters.
- Direct all employee relations, investigations, and legal matters to the Controller and COO.
- Assist the Controller and COO with assigned projects.
- Filing all personnel and related documents.
- Coordinate with payroll to process VOE’s, disability forms and wage garnishments.
- Create, input and complete new hire information in their ADP profiles.
- Verify I-9 documentation.
- Process and document employee status changes (title, pay increase, department change) in coordination with Payroll.
- Under the direction of the Controller, and in coordination with payroll, facilitate and be the initial point of contact for associates during the yearly company health benefits open enrollment process.
- Workers Compensation: Process a New Claims, tracking and logging, and coordinate with managers on job restrictions.
- Under the direction of the Controller and COO, track leave of absences, collect doctor’s notes, inform managers of associate status, and coordinate return to work.
- Under the direction of the Controller and COO, coordinate terminations and resignations and close out files.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the Controller and COO.
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM or PHR certification preferred
- 4+ years of HR experience required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times , handle personnel matters effectively, and handle employee and public personnel inquiries with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Reliable and supportive team member
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS office and Adobe Pro.
- Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Experience in ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
- Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, twisting, squatting, and climbing stairs.

Summary:
The HR Specialist will provide hands-on strategic support for the day-to-day Human Resources functions. Areas of responsibility include hiring, employee relations, benefits administration, worker’s compensation claims, and coordinating payroll processing.
Schedule: 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday
Compensation: $32.00-$34.00 hourly DOE
