- Ability to operate basic office equipment (i.e., computer, fax, and multi-line telephone system).
- Knowledge of beverage concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Effective supervisory and communication skills.
- Budgeting and analytical skills with the ability to trouble shoot and analyze complex data.
- Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests and employees.
- High school education or equivalent. College degree preferred.
- Sommelier Certification preferred.
- Liquor handler certification up to date.
- Five years’ experience as Lead Sommelier/ Beverage director in a high volume, complex environment.

Responsibilities
The Director of Beverage is responsible for the resort's Beverage Program, including selection of products, menu design and content, training and controls while producing a quality product, which exceeds guest expectation and hotel standards, delivered in a friendly and professional manner.
Examples of Duties , includes but is not limited to the following:1. Oversee the F&B Beverage Operation as it relates to Fontainebleau Resorts performance standards, while maximizing revenue and profit. 2. Observe and appraise team members’ performance, provide feedback, and facilitate improvements in accordance with established standards of product and performance.3. Oversee personnel and operations ensuring organization, cleanliness, proper maintenance, and supplies.4. Manage multiple areas and oversee managers/employees of various F&B outlets as it pertains to all beverage served at the hotel.5. Select products that will meet the quality standards and financial expectations of the hotel.6. Coordinate with other departments/managers the daily flow of our Hotel's Operations.7. Take the lead on the development and execution of a profitable, mission-driven wine program. 8. Take the lead on the ordering and maintenance of wine inventory.9. Take the lead on monthly accounting of inventory. 10. Ensure team members have access to necessary information when new wines are presented. Work with the managers to identify training needs and plan monthly wine trainings. 11. Ensure communication with marketing and F&B division includes new wine offerings. 12. Work closely with vendors to ensure proper pricing and wine/spirit selection is up to the hotel standards.13. Work with lead sommelier to develop wine program for each restaurant and overall wine cellars organization. 14. Maintain an updated POS system.
