      Overview:

      The Sales Representative position is a commission only based position with a competitive commission structure. Potential commission of $100K-$120K. This position is responsible for the sale of the organization's products and to provide ongoing support to our distribution channel. This territory includes Pennsylvania (East of Pittsburgh). Candidate must reside within the territory.

      The Sales Representative is to show customers new products, in person, securing orders, building relationships and managing situations that arise. The essential duties and responsibilities of the Sales Representative include; knowledge of the fabric and quilting industry. Account / Territory Management skills. Outside sales experience of a tangible product is a must as well as experience calling on Independent Retailers.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Sales Representative
      • Excellent sales and negotiation skills

      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
      • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets
      • Maintain and keep all sales literature, company property and samples in a well-organized condition. Must be able to maneuver product suitcases, or other devices used for moving products, full of samples, to and from customer locations.
      • Attends trade shows, when requested
      • Ability to use email and social media platforms for virtual sales meetings and or sales calls when needed to inform customers of new products / promotions
      • Cold Calling skills and develop avenues to obtain new customers
      • Attends scheduled monthly conference calls
      • Keeps weekly itinerary/call reports via Google Calendar and update it daily regarding sales dollars written with the accounts
      • Keeps informed of new products, competitive products and services and other general information of interest to customers

      Education and/or Experience
      • Education: High School Diploma/GED required. Some college preferred
      • Experience: Three or more years of outside sales experience required

      Other Skills
      • Strong time management and organization skills
      • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
      • Familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management
      • Computer use competency
      • Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
      • Self-motivated and driven
      • Ability to follow Checker policies and procedures
      • Functions well in a high paced and at times stressful environment


      Working conditions

      The Sales Representative is expected to work during store business hours in the territory, physically calling on the accounts by walking through their door and meeting with owners and/or their employees. Additional time may be necessary for shows, maintaining samples, special events or assistance with customer's needs. We expect you to be accessible via email or by phone during normal business hours. Depending on the region, the Sales Representative may encounter inclement weather.

      Travel

      This position requires up to 75% travel. Frequently travel outside the local area and overnight.

      Physical requirements

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person. .
