      Fabrication Team Lead

      Job Description

      Join our dynamic team as a Fabrication Team Lead in a marine manufacturing environment, where you will oversee the fabrication, welding, and assembly of marine doors, hatches, and closures, ensuring high-quality product delivery to support Canada's shipbuilding industry.

      Responsibilities

      • Supervise fabrication, welding, and assembly of marine components.
      • Collaborate with in-house Engineering to meet project timelines.
      • Manage workflow and resolve production issues on the floor.
      • Ensure safety, quality, and production standards are consistently met.

      Essential Skills

      • Operate light machinery including grinders, sanders, and drills.
      • Use plate shears, ironworkers, drilling and tapping operations.
      • Knowledge of welding equipment for small welding jobs.
      • Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings.
      • Reading and understanding of fabrication and CAD drawings.
      • Use overhead cranes and rigging techniques.
      • Monitor quality of fabrication.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Certification in Millwright, Electrician, or Welder/Fabricator preferred.
      • 2+ years of leadership experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
      • Skilled in reading and interpreting fabrication and welding blueprints.
      • Hands-on experience with welding and metal fabrication.
      • Experience in marine manufacturing or shipbuilding is an asset.
      • Forklift certification.
      • Machining experience.

      Work Environment

      Work in a collaborative and fast-paced production floor within the Chilliwack facility's Windows and Doors department. This is a multicultural and multidisciplinary team where safety is prioritized. The environment is physically demanding and requires PPE including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and face masks. The facility is clean, organized, and offers cross-training opportunities. Enjoy the friendly team atmosphere, with music playing in some departments. Shifts include day, weekend, and afternoon options, with performance-based raises and reviews conducted regularly. Dress code requires long pants, safety glasses, and measuring tape.

      The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.
