What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide academic support services to students across UAMS programs
- Develop personalized academic plans and facilitate workshops for students
- Coordinate peer tutoring and apply innovative learning support strategies
- Coach students on academic issues including time management and study skills
- Maintain accurate statistics on work activities and contribute to the online presence of the ESSC
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master’s degree with an emphasis in adult education, counseling, educational psychology, or a related field
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Innovative and solution-oriented approach to supporting students
- Ability to track statistics and maintain accurate documentation
- Strong relational and interpersonal skills, treating all team members with respect
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Two or more years of experience in higher education advising and counseling
- Experience working at an Academic Health Sciences Center
- Familiarity with peer tutoring or mentoring programs
- Enthusiasm for working with a diverse population within a university setting
