What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist UAMS students with academic needs by developing personalized plans of action
- Facilitate workshops and coordinate peer tutoring to support academic success
- Coach students on time management, study skills, and test-taking strategies
- Contribute to the development of online educational modules and resources
- Maintain accurate statistics on work activities and assist in reporting for the ESSC
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in adult education, counseling, educational psychology, or a related field
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to track statistics regularly and treat all team members with respect
- Innovative and solution-oriented approach to student support
- Strong relational and interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Two or more years of experience in higher education advising and counseling
- Experience working in an Academic Health Sciences Center
- Familiarity with peer tutoring or mentoring programs
- Enthusiasm for working with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population
- Experience in developing and hosting academic workshops
