Clinical To provide an effective and efficient systemic therapy service for children and young people with mental health needs,building resilience and community support systems. To independently plan, organise, lead and evaluate individual and group treatment sessions providing guidance toothers on suitable techniques as required. To explore best practice and to innovate in the areas of assessment and intervention within CAMHS. To provide evidence-based interventions and demonstrate high level clinical reasoning skills in implementing bestpractice; to explore innovations in practice and implement accordingly. To analyse complex facts and situations and compare a range of options in order to develop highly specialisedservice delivery to meet the needs of children and young people in early intervention CAMHS. To establish and maintain excellent communication with other members of the MDT, individuals, family, carers andsignificant others. To provide consultation to professionals in creating management plans for children and young people. To liaise with and where appropriate participate in joint work with other clinicians. To communicate highly complex condition or intervention related information to children, young people and theirfamilies, responding sensitively to issues which are potentially highly emotive. To participate in and contribute to case conferences and review meetings for children, young people and theirfamilies. To undertake 'one-off' assessment and intervention with less experienced therapists for identified casesdemonstrating up to date, expert evidence-based clinical skills. To provide professional advice to patient/carer groups. To demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures. To provide a second opinion where there are practice dilemmas. To maintain clinical records and produce reports on service users in accordance with service guidelines andstandards. To work within the Association of Family Therapists Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and within Health Boardand departmental policies and procedures. To be responsible for development and implementation of appropriate policies/ protocols within area ofresponsibility.
Leadership To prioritise, manage and monitor own caseload and to support colleagues with the day-to-day organisation of workwithin the service. To work closely with Service Leads in implementing the clinical governance agenda, in respect of standards andquality of assessment and intervention for children and young people. This will include addressing issues ofservice capacity, staffing and waiting times management. To attend locality operational meetings as appropriate and agreed with manager and the CAMHs seniormanagement team. To work with manager and CAMHS senior management team to develop and audit clinical standards acrossthe service relating to area of clinical specialism. To evaluate the clinical performance of staff within the team (where they are in post); supporting thedevelopment of staff within the context of service delivery. To prioritise own work within the resources available to the service and to highlight deficiencies to the OperationalManager and the CAMHS senior management team where they impact on either the quality or standards of servicedelivery. To take part in the recruitment, selection and appointment of staff and to organise induction programmesas appropriate. Where appropriate, to act as supervisor for junior staff providing regular supervision sessions in line with ABUHBpolicies. Where appropriate, carry out annual appraisals according to ABUHB policy. To observe departmental and ABUHB systems and policies to meet quality standards and to provide accurateand timely statistical information as required. To interpret and implement national and local guidelines within the service. To contribute to the development of departmental policies regarding service provision. To work with clinicians in the S-CAMHS service and colleagues in the MDT promoting changes in practice in line withcurrent innovation.
