      Duties


      • Responsible for the operation of an FCC System IAW all applicable regulations and standards. Plan, implement, and oversees a comprehensive program that promotes positive growth and development of children ages birth to 12.
      • Maintains DoD Certification for an FCC System. Implements viable opportunity for providers to achieve home accreditation and Child Development Associate/School-Age Credentials.
      • Implements and monitors DA policies to include program registration/enrollment, baseline standards and benchmarks, Key Management Controls, and space utilization goals.
      • Actively recruits, screens, and certifies qualified on- and off-post providers. Oversees and evaluates providers based on established performance standards. Ensures timely administrative actions and responses to provider needs.
      • Maintains up-to-date data concerning the demographics of the FCC Program. Serves as Subject Matter Expert on CYS issues related to assigned area(s), and supports all EEO and AA objectives.
      • Provide support to (PCS) management team by assisting with processing MIAT paperwork, completing CYS registration(s) for new and returning patrons, enrolling patrons into programs and acting as Manager on Duty for the PCS Office.

      Requirements


      • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment or placement into the position.
      • Proof of education is required at the time of application.
      • Good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease (verified through physical examination). Immunizations must be current including annual influenza vaccinations.

      • Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
      • Job requires working both in and outdoors.
      • A one year probationary period may be required.
      • Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable suitability determination.
      • Any individual who was required to register with selective service and who has not registered or knowingly and willingly did not register before the requirement terminated or become inapplicable to the individual will not be appointed.
      • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

      Qualifications


      Successful completion of an undergraduate Degree that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate (child development, early childhood education, home economics (with early childhood emphasis), elementary education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled.

      OR

      A combination of education and experience as follows:Successful completion of at least 24 semester hours in a major course of study in education or appropriate CYS field as indicated above, plus appropriate work experience that provided knowledge skills and abilities directly related to the duties described.

      In addition candidates must possess:
      1. Twenty-four (24) months working in child and/or youth programs.
      2. Program administration experience in child and youth programs (includes public schools and recreation program administration).
      3. The ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.
      4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
      5. Comprehensive oral and communications skills and analytical writing skills, and the ability to present ideas and proposals to a variety of audiences.
      6. The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
