What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide support, encouragement, and education to families navigating behavioral health, social, legal, educational, and healthcare systems
- Offer a strengths-based, non-judgmental approach to help families identify challenges and develop solutions
- Facilitate educational workshops on behavioral health topics for families and caregivers
- Advocate on behalf of families with key stakeholders to ensure their needs are met
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding the delivery of services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Personal lived experience as a family member or primary caregiver of someone with mental health needs
- Must reside in Cecil County
- High school diploma or equivalent; some combination of college and/or professional work experience preferred
- Familiarity with state and local resources and how to access them
- Strong written and oral communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience assisting families in obtaining appropriate services and supports
- Familiarity and comfort with public speaking and community outreach
- Strong computer skills and ability to efficiently utilize internet searches to identify resources
- Willingness to learn how to use a database (Salesforce)
