What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct interviews and assessments to determine the needs of families and children in crisis
- Perform investigative duties related to child and adult protective services
- Provide psychosocial support to individuals and families coping with challenges such as neglect and abuse
- Prepare court documents, represent the agency in court, and testify as needed
- Develop and coordinate service plans and programs to meet the needs of clients
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field or any field with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver's License or ability to travel to investigation sites
- Experience working with children in the foster care system
- Ability to demonstrate computer literacy, preferably in Microsoft Office and OASIS software
- Must pass a Criminal Records Check, including fingerprinting and CANIS Records Check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in Family Services or Child Protective Services
- CANS certification
- Experience testifying in court
- Knowledge of community resources and public services related to social work
- Familiarity with child welfare laws and regulations
