      Excellent leadership, communication, partnership working and problem-solving skills. Have experience and knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures including the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.       Main duties of the job

      Are you ready to lead a passionate, dedicated team and make a real difference? We have an exciting opportunity to join St Gemmas Hospice in the post of Family Support Manager. The role involves managing and leading a team of Social Workers, the Bereavement Service, Young Peoples Bereavement Service and the Spiritual Care Team. You will role model the St Gemmas values and behaviour framework and be warm, approachable and a compassionate leader.

Take the lead for all Safeguarding issues and be trained to Level 4 standard as specified by intercollegiate guidance for health services, ensuring effective safeguarding practice and appropriate reporting Have experience and knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures including the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Have experience of working with bereavement and loss and the ability to manage emotionally complex situations.(Desirable)

      • Current registration with Social Work England
      • Evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development

      • Diploma in Counselling and BACP/UKCP accreditation or equivalent
      • Management/leadership qualification
      • Member of the Association of palliative Care Social Workers

      Experience

      Essential

      • Demonstrable record of successfully leading and managing a team to deliver excellent services which meet diverse user needs
      • Effective working in a multi-disciplinary setting and with external agencies
      • Developing and maintaining systems and processes to support effective service delivery
      • Experience of managing safeguarding and Mental Capacity Act processes
