Description of Work
This is an INTERNAL POSTING open ONLY for current employees of the NC Department of Revenue.
The Department of Revenue established this position as hybrid remote. This is a statewide position and will be based out of the service center closest to the selected candidate's location.
The primary purpose of a Revenue Field Auditor II LCS team is to conduct independent examinations of financial records of taxpayers that have unique or special audit features or anticipated accounting, tax law, or investigative problems. The audits are complex and include the Fortune 500 companies in the incumbent's designated geographical area.
It is the responsibility of this position to review and audit, in an accurate and thorough manner, the sales and use tax schedules, or all tax schedules administered by the Department.
Some overnight travel may be required with this position.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field with at least eighteen semester hours of accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience as a Field Auditor I or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
