What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Plan, prepare, analyze, monitor, and report on appropriations, allocations, revenues, and expenditures for assigned budgets
- Prepare monthly financial and budget reports for department leadership and other required stakeholders
- Assist in developing and implementing budget strategies and annual budget requests
- Provide regular updates on budget status and key information to supervisors and executives
- Serve as a subject matter expert on budget preparation and financial insights
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, business, or a closely related field
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in accounting, financial analysis, and/or budget development
- Knowledge of fiscal management, budgetary control, and state procurement systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information
- Proficiency in data analysis and organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Arizona's Enterprise Resource Planning system (AZ360)
- Familiarity with state laws and ADOA policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills
