      Job Summary : Responsible for financial resolution of all patient responsibility debt incurred at Caromont Health, including Caromont Regional Medical Center, Caromont Medical Group practices, Caromont Endoscopy Center and Caromont Specialty Surgery. This includes interviewing patients and/or family members on the telephone to verify/obtain needed information or necessary documentation and/or signatures for charity assistance, following up on pending Medicaid and Disability accounts, following up on insurance payments that were sent directly to patients for account resolution, and setting up and monitoring payment plans. Counsel patients and/or guarantors on available financial options to resolve the account(s). Work with outside collection agencies to ensure accurate and efficient processing of accounts transitioning to external collection efforts.

      Qualifications : High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Three years' experience in healthcare billing and coding with knowledge of insurance carrier guidelines and CMS regulations preferred. Must be self-driven and able to communicate effectively and professionally in a high-volume environment. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail required. A positive and proactive attitude toward achieving overall department goals is required. PC experience including word processing & spreadsheet applications preferred.
