Under the supervision and direction of the Fitness Coordinator for Personal Training, The Fitness Lead will be responsible for the daily operations of the fitness floor. In doing so, this individual must work closely with all members of the fitness team, particularly medical fitness, as well as other Augusta Health departments. The Fitness Lead will ensure safe and effective fitness programming, to include health evaluations and orientations for members and visitors. The Fitness Lead will also be responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of all fitness space and equipment. This individual will log and follow-up on needed maintenance repairs. The Fitness lead is responsible for providing a quality customer service experience for members and guests and being proactive in tracking member retention intitiaves. The Fitness Lead will work in conjunction with the Fitness Coordinator to ensure adequate staffing for the fitness floor, create special programming, and participate in community outreach projects approved by Augusta Health. The Fitness Lead will be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the fitness members and staff. Collaboratively work with all Fitness leadership for coverage and job assignments.
Education
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science, Kinesiology, Sport Management or a Fitness Related Field
or
• A combination of education, experience or certification from a Nationally Recognized fitness organization issued through NCCA*, such as ASCM, NCSF, ACE or AFAA, will be considered in lieu of the degree.• *Or ability to obtain such a NCCA cert within 90 days of hire
Licensure/Certification
• CPR/AED, and First Aid cert or the ability to obtain during orientation period
Experience
• 3 years’ experience as a fitness professional fitness industry. • None
