- Research, investigate, and evaluate county Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) records for proper compliance with Federal and State laws for proper administration of the NC Food and Nutrition Services Program.
- Interview FNS recipients to obtain information used in the determination of their eligibility for FNS benefits.
- Contact various sources (landlords, employers, etc.) in executing this evaluation.
- This position may require extensive travel and needs a flexible work schedule; therefore, the applicant must reside within a two-hour drive to Guilford County Department of Social Services (primary county). In addition to Guilford County, case reviews may be conducted in Alamance, Durham, Orange, Granville, or other counties within the state.
- Current policy-related experience (within the past one to two years) with Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
- Experience with NC FAST and other State information systems such as Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) and/or On-line Verification (OLV)
- Skills demonstrated in interpreting, analyzing, and communicating State regulations related to the FNS program
- Computer skills demonstrated in using various programs (primarily Microsoft Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat)
- Current (within past 1-2 years) FNS program knowledge, familiar with program monitoring requirements, and supervisor, lead worker, and/or trainer experience.

About the Division of Child and Family Well-Being:At NC DHHS the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW) focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. DCFW works to ensure that North Carolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. DCFW has complementary Public Health and Mental health programming that maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs.
