We are looking for a Forming Specialist to join our team on this journey. If you are a curious engineer with a genuine interest in materials and forming technology, join us! We are a multi-site team located in Borlänge, Hämeenlinna and Raahe. Placement Raahe.

      About the position

      As a Forming Specialist you will work in the field of metal forming from several different perspectives; ranging from R&D projects to providing expert support directly to our customers. This gives that you will work together with people in R&D, Business Development and Sales and Marketing functions internally, but also collaborate with SSAB customers globally and external R&D partners.

      Main tasks
      • Contribute with expertise in evaluation of new steel grades in development projects and material approvals
      • Provide expert advice and support for SSAB customers. Participate in customer development projects
      • Run development of material modelling techniques, test methods and data analysis.
      • Initiate and co-ordinate R&D activities within the area of forming internally and in external R&D partner network
      • Give presentations and hold educations in internal and external forums
      • Contribute in production of marketing material, product data sheet and technical recommendations

      Your qualifications
      • Master’s degree or higher (Materials science, Engineering physics, Mechanical engineering, or equivalent)
      • Experience in metal forming, forming simulations or material modelling and practical test methods is mandatory
      • Knowledge in material modelling, digital measuring techniques and data analysis is meritorious
      • Ability to collaborate and communicate with a variety of internal and external contacts. Comfortable in giving presentations in area of expertise
      • Ability to plan, execute, follow-up and communicate development activities
      • Fluent in English, other languages a benefit
