- Facilitate accurate and effective communication between English speaking and non-English speaking individuals.
- Prepare in advance for interpreting sessions by reviewing materials and understanding context.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to our Code of Professional Conduct.
- Collaborate with the LinguaLinx team members, clients, and other service providers to ensure effective communication.
- Completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreting Training Course. (Submission of certificate is required.)
- Proficiency in English and target language(s), both spoken and written.
- Adherence to HIPAA, strong interpersonal skills, and reliable internet connection for remote assignments.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to various environments and client needs.
- 18 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess valid U.S. work authorization.
- May be subject to a background check.
- Prior experience in medical, legal, or educational interpreting.
- Comfortable with simultaneous interpreting.
- Professional certifications (CCHI, NBCMI, or state court certification) a plus.
- VRI experience preferred.
