      Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking Functional Safety Lead with a strong technical background to handle Functional Safety life activities in camera based driver monitoring & interior sensing domain.

      Key Job Responsibilities:

      • Define and Engineer product component Safety requirements
      • Work with the system supplier to fulfill Functional Safety requirements
      • Conduct system and vehicle tests for functional safety validation of system
      • Participate in review of Product component safety architecture & design
      • Define Fail safe mechanisms
      • Vehicle/HiL integration tests for Functional Safety validation
      • Manage the application of the functional safety process
      • Support in development of Artefacts required for Functional safety Audits as per ISO26262 guidelines.
      • Support in creating safety analysis (FMEAs, FMEDA, FTA)
      • Work with the multiple suppliers to complete the DIA, safety plan and support the development of the functional safety and technical safety concept.
      • Support the feature, systems, and hardware and software teams in the completion of the ISO26262 work products. Work with them to manage the development per the safety plan.

      Key Skills and Experience:

      • Automotive SW Engineering and Development experience
      • Experience in creating safety concepts and analyses
      • Knowledge of ISO26262, Automotive SPICE preferably with formal certification
      • Played/ Currently playing roles as FUSA Engineer or FUSA Developer
      • Exposure to camera based application development w.r.t. ISO26262
      • Usage of DOORS / Requirements management tools
      • Requirements Elicitation and Management activities
      • CAN and Ethernet protocol knowledge
      • Electrical Systems Knowhow and debugging skills
      • Knowledge of Diagnostic protocols : UDS , KWP
      • Usage of Vector CAN tools – CANOE / CANalyzer

      Additional Skills:

      • Exposure to camera based systems – Preferred
      • Formal Functional Safety Certification
      • Good communication skills and ability to work in & contribute as a good team player
      • Experience in the automotive field and exposure of multi-cultural environment is an added advantage
