- Daily performance management (coaching/managing) of the Sustaining PPD team including managing team engagement, capability development through the management of performance development plans and other initiatives,
- Manage daily workload and operations of team (Approximately 16 people),
- Report to the Chief Engineer Sustaining / Director PEF, including KPI reports and other measures to monitor performance against business objectives,
- Maintain contacts with other departments (in particular Production & Quality) in order to be able to deliver as agreed,
- Make decisions (after consultation with Production and Program Managers) to prioritize certain production variances,
- Set up a future working method with Production and Quality in order to be able to operate in a customer-oriented way in the event of an increasing number of production deviations, without compromising the quality of technical decision making,
- Initiate preventive measures in consultation with other parts of Engineering and Production in order to minimize or prevent future production deviations,
- Set up, train and coach the desired team (appointing new employees if necessary),
- Ensure that employees are familiar with and apply the required customer oriented methods and working methods.
- BSc or higher in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent working and thinking level gained by experience,
- 10+ years’ experience in design and/or analysis within the aerospace manufacturing industry,
- Able to lead highly skilled teams and to create a safe, inspiring and engaging work environment,
- Experienced in relationship building and stakeholder management,
- Able to work with cross-functional teams (incl. operations, manufacturing engineering, commercial, procurement, quality, suppliers),
- Experienced in performing strength analysis (static and fatigue),
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and legislation requirements,
- Sharp and able to judge whether escalation is required,
- Persuasive, confident and committed, delivery focused and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines,
- Capable to empower others, coach the team and build on future capabilities by delegating and providing constructive feedback,
- Able to clearly present data, reports and presentations to facilitate the decision making process at all business levels,
- Able to process administrative affairs of the Sustaining department,
- Proficient in stress specific tools, MS office, etc.
- Able to adhere to company policies, quality procedures, environmental and safety regulations,
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
- A gross monthly salary up to € 7.647,- based on the CLA Metalektro and in line with your experience and qualifications (CLA Metalektro M),
- 8% holiday allowance,
- 42 paid holidays for full-time employment,
- Working conditions according to the CLA Metalektro, including an excellent pension scheme (PME) and travel allowance,

The vacancy: Engineering Team Lead
We are looking for a Team Lead to lead the Sustaining department of GKN Fokker Aerospace in Papendrecht. This dedicated and highly skilled engineering team (approximately 15 FTEs) works on programs of Airbus, Gulfstream, Boeing, Dassault, etc. and the focus lies on the analysis and resolution of bottlenecks as consequence from non-conforming products during the production phase or during user phase. The goal is to ensure that the process disruptions are kept to a minimum.
This role reports functionally and hierarchically to the Director of Product Verification.
Note: internally the position is named as Functional Team Lead - Engineering - Analysis.
