Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is looking for someone with vision and energy to help us with our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character.
Girl Scouts is the largest girl-led organization in the world, with membership reaching 3.4 million throughout the United States, including U.S. territories, and in more than 90 countries through USA Girl Scouts Overseas.
The Fund Development intern reports directly to the Director of Philanthropy and will work closely with the entire Fund Development team. She/he will have the opportunity to complete projects for Fund Development, and other departments, as well as attend our team meetings. This internship will touch on all aspects of individual and corporate fundraising, events and donor services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Observe and participate in weekly Fund Development team meetings.
Assist in planning the government relations touch-points at camp, including compiling historical information, researching potential invitees, and logistics for the events.
Complete a major Research project to find female owned/led companies and organizations with female initiatives, sports and entertainment brands, and professional Atlanta individuals that the development team can review for possible inclusion on the donor pipeline.
Assist with other donor prospect and research projects as needed.
Create an annual fund appeal and present to the Development team.
Gain valuable event planning experience by assisting with summer events and fall event prep.
Qualifications

Good verbal and written communication skills
Proven organizational skills
Internet research skills
Microsoft Office skills
Problem solving abilities
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Able to maintain donor confidentiality
PREFERRED SKILLS
College Junior or Senior working towards a degree in a related field
Knowledge of Girl Scout organization is a plus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have relevant experience, or have taken course work in Non-Profit Administration, Non-Profit Management, Communication, History, Education, or Business Administration
Proven Research skills
Must be Microsoft proficient
WORKING CONDITIONS
