      Salary Information:
      The salary for this position is negotiated through a collective bargaining agreement. All new employees will be hired at the minimum salary in the range and will be eligible for merit increases until reaching the maximum salary in the range.

      Definition
      Incumbents perform real-time monitoring and research using video cameras, open source media, sensor technologies, and various software applications and databases at the Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center and other command centers; relay information between police officers, Dispatch, specialized units, and command centers by phone, radio, email, and other communication tools; and track and assess police activity.

      Programs and Technical Capabilities
      Fusion Watch is responsible for numerous programs and technical capabilities to include the following:
      • Real Time Crime Monitoring: Identifying and addressing potential crimes in progress and suspicious activity by monitoring a network of 600+ surveillance cameras in real-time.
      • Patrol Over-Watch: Monitoring and supporting patrol activities, identifying officer safety issues, and helping coordinate a response using a network of surveillance cameras and other technologies.
      • Gunshot Detection: Identifying the location of suspected shooters and potential evidence by monitoring acoustic gunshot sensors in real time.
      • SAR Intake and Screening: Receiving, screening, and processing suspicious activity for crime and terrorism.
      • License Plate Reader (LPR) Program: Identifying potential leads for criminal investigations using a third-party LPR database.
      • Threat Warning and Dissemination: Identifying potential threats and significant events globally, facilitating the exchange of information among fusion center partners, and providing all stake holders with situational awareness.
      • Incident & Investigative Support: Providing patrol with investigate research and tactical workups during dynamic incidents (i.e., barricades) or complex investigations (i.e., homicide cases).
      • Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Monitoring Program: Utilization of Fusion Watch drone detection software to help patrol officers combat unlawful drone use throughout the Las Vegas Valley, specifically the tourist corridors, in areas containing critical infrastructure, and to assist with drone-related calls for service.
      • Open-Source Monitoring Program: Provide investigative support and intelligence gathering via open-source news, websites and social media monitoring to assist in criminal or public safety investigations or event planning purposes.
      • Fusion Watch Training & Project Management: Fusion Watch utilizes a team of specialists and/or officers that are responsible for the training and familiarization program for new Fusion Watch Officers/Specialists. Additionally, this team coordinates Fusion Watch projects and administrative duties for the above listed functions.
      • Facial Recognition ( FaceRec ) Program: Identifying potential victims or leads for criminal investigations using a third-party facial recognition program for LVMPD and outside agencies.


      Training, Education and Experience
      • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.
      • One year of responsible experience operating radio, other emergency communications equipment, or video surveillance equipment, preferably in a law enforcement agency or security setting.
      • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nevada driver license.
      • Be a citizen/naturalized citizen or permanent resident alien without conditions on status of the United States of America by the date of the first test instrument.
      • Be at least 18 years old by the date of the first test instrument.

      Best Candidates Will Have
      • Six months of experience operating video surveillance equipment including digital media and/or monitoring cameras and screens for security purposes in a law enforcement setting.
      • Computer experience in law enforcement applications.
      • Experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
      • Data entry experience.
      • Basic radio experience including listening to and transmitting radio communications in the course of work.

      Conditions of Employment
      In addition to the General Conditions of Employment, found here, the following specific conditions of employment and physical conditions apply to this position.
      1. Personal Appearance: While on duty, and/or representing the Department, uniformed or otherwise, all Department employees will be neat and clean in their appearance in public. Employees are prohibited from attaching, affixing, or displaying objects, articles or jewelry on or through the nose, tongue, eyebrow or other exposed body part, except the ears for females, while on duty. Employees are prohibited from stretching or "gauging" their earlobes. All jewelry implants will not be exposed or visible while on duty. Tattoos or branding will not be exposed or visible while on duty and/or representing the Department. Such markings must be covered by clothing. Markings that cannot be covered by clothing will be covered using makeup, neutral-toned bandages, or patches. Tattoos or branding anywhere on the body that promote racism/discrimination, indecency, extremist or supremacist philosophies, lawlessness, violence, or contain sexually explicit material are prohibited.
      2. Subject to call back requirements.
      3. Required to work any assigned shift and day, including holidays, upon short notice, if necessary.
      4. Maintain an appropriate, valid Nevada driver license.
      5. Subject to random drug testing as a part of the LVMPD Department Drug Testing Program.
      6. Endurance sufficient to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.
      7. Dexterity sufficient to operate cameras, control room equipment, hand-held radios, intercoms, and related equipment.
      8. Stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, pulling; and for operating computers and other office equipment.
      9. Vision sufficient for effective discrimination and perception for making observations and recognizing images.
      10. Strength and mobility sufficient to lift light items, such as equipment in the Command Center.
      11. Hearing sufficient to hear conversations and directions in person and over the radio and the telephone.

      Exam #1: Written Exam (Weighted 40% ) –Tuesday, September 5, 2023
      Only candidates who pass AND are in the TOP SCORING GROUP of the Written Exam will be invited to continue in the selection process.
      Exam #2: Oral Board Exam (Weighted 60%)– Beginning Tuesday, September 26, 2023

      **Due to security reasons, personal belongings permitted in the testing facility will be limited. Items such as large backpacks, briefcases, duffle bags or similar items may not be allowed.       Additional Selection Processes
      If you successfully complete the above selection process, you will undergo a thorough background investigation, including a polygraph exam. A polygraph examination can be stressful and may affect existing medical or psychological conditions or ongoing treatment.       The background investigation takes approximately 90 to 120 days to complete. You must also meet the LVMPD Hiring Standards.
