  At Gordon Food Service, the customer -- internal or external - is always at the center of our universe. As a Product Marketing Specialist , you will utilize your knowledge and expertise to provide our divisional (internal) customers with strategic, profit maximizing solutions in fruit, vegetable, and dairy categories. Your focus in this job?

  • Increase market share and profitability through relevant business and product solutions

  • Provides consultative selling services on product category with Customer Development Specialist (CDS) and customers as requested to achieve category goals

  • Develop relationships with key customers, providing product expertise and market intelligence on the categories

  • Develop, prepare, and present customer presentations on product related solutions

  • Utilize relevant analytical and reporting tools to drive strategies aligned with category goals and initiatives

  • Participate in food shows and other related activities in support of strategic divisional events

  • Train the internal Sales team on fruit, vegetable, and dairy product and solutions

  • Interfaces and collaborates with internal and external customers, brokers, and vendors to achieve sales and margin goals

  
  Does this look like you?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Three to Four years previous sales or marketing experience with emphasis in FRESH fruit, vegetable, and dairy product/category knowledge, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • Must maintain a valid, unrestricted state driver’s license and safe driving record per GFS policy

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • The ability to travel approximately 80% of the time to visit customers across the Carolinas region
