What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Create and implement sales strategies and tactics for the territory
- Plan and attend customer meetings, prioritizing opportunities and following through all stages of the sales cycle
- Increase sales by identifying customer needs and matching products to those needs
- Represent the employer at key industry events such as conferences and trade shows
- Provide detailed sales reports and maintain up-to-date customer and sales information via CRM systems
What is Required (Qualifications):
- College degree with significant field sales experience and a proven track record of meeting sales targets
- Customer-centric attitude with a consultative approach to selling
- Excellent communication skills for managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated approach
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time within the territory
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Field sales experience within the academic library market
- Experience negotiating large contracts
- Good understanding of the academic environment
