      Ventia are looking for a passionate, professional, and driven individual to join us as the Gardening Assistant on our team at an elite school in Auckland.

      This role is a great opportunity for someone ready to challenge themselves in a high-profile environment where excellence in service is not only an outcome but a standard that all of us on the team believe in and deliver with pride.

      As a member of the dedicated site team, with the assistance of seasonal and event specialists, you will be a key person on site that ensures our work programmes in the gardens and on the grounds are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest of standards.

      About The Role

      As the Gardening Assistant, you will deliver the work alongside your colleagues, while being a key point of contact for the Head Groundsperson from Ventia and the client representatives who are based on site at the school.

      Your duties will include but not be limited to:

      • Daily gardening, grounds and minor turf works
      • Delivering seasonal tasks such as annual bed rotations, fertilising, composting, mulching and planting
      • Contributing to a positive team culture that promotes respect, professionalism and excellence
      • Preparing for events and holiday programmes
      • Equipment maintenance and care

      About You

      This customer requires the highest of standards, and therefore requires a site team that understand what that means and how it is delivered.

      You will have a proven track record of success and your experience will demonstrate your ability to deliver in this role. Your passion and composure will demonstrate that you want this role as it is the role you have envisioned yourself in throughout your journey in our great industry.

      • Have gained or working towards a qualification in Horticulture (preferred, but not essential)
      • Proven experience with high-profile customers/sites
      • Experience operating in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and events
      • Experience using software systems or apps to record operational tasks
      • Experience with various types of machinery and equipment – mowers, vehicles, small plant
