      In 2021, the New Zealand Government committed to significant investment in KiwiRail to ensure its sustainable and secure future and to enable it to grow and revitalise rail for the benefit of all New Zealand. Many of those investments are now coming to fruition. In more recent times the business has been engaged in a Full Potential Assessment review and built a 5-year transformation plan known as our "One Future" Transformation plan. The General Manager Integrated Business Planning will join KiwiRail during an exciting new "build and grow" phase.

      What you’ll do

      The General Manager Integrated Business Planning is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process within our organisation. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between business goals, financial targets and operational execution.

      A key focus is to ensure our Services (Above Rail) business is financially sustainable and ensure effective asset utilisation, return on capital employed and ultimately profitability across this diverse and complex business.

      Key accountabilities include:

      • Developing and championing the vision, strategy and roadmap for Integrated Business Planning process
      • Providing strategic guidance to senior leadership in regards to demand planning, supply chain optimisation, inventory management and financial planning
      • Identifying business gaps and creating action plans
      • Designing, implementing and enhancing the IBP process and establishing key performance metrics
      • Developing scenario analyses and contingency plans to mitigate risks
      • Coaching, mentoring and developing a high performing IBP team

      What you'll need

      This role requires a proven, experienced leader with a collaborative and influencing leadership style. You will be able to demonstrate excellent strategic and commercial acumen and ideally bring logistics experience.

      You'll have a demonstrated skillset in:

      • Strategic thinking and analysis; commercial nous and sound decision-making
      • Communication, presentation and the ability to align and engage stakeholders at all levels
      • Driving cross-functional collaboration and delivering business results in a dynamic environment
      • Proficiency in advanced planning tools and systems, ERP systems and data analytics platforms
      • Leading diverse teams

      Experience in leading a transformation in planning is an advantage.
