Job Description

- Assist with Health Care Assistant clinical duties such as taking observations (BP, height/weight, ECGs, phlebotomy, with appropriate training if required).
- Provide clinical procedures such as immunisations and wound care, within competency limits.
- Carry out chronic disease reviews/ annual checks.
- Provide administrative support during GP consultations (e.g. Coding of medical letters, discharge summaries).
- Supporting the nursing team with administrative support, such as coding vaccination history, care plans and completing monthly financial claims for vaccinations
- Supporting the Management team with recalls for KPI targets such as QOF and Local Enhanced Services
- Arrange patient appointments, investigations, referrals, and follow-ups.
- Assist GPs in liaising with external services and process referrals (e.g., arranging urgent secondary care advice or admissions)
- Liaise with patients and signpost appropriately to services or team members.
- Previous experience in a primary care is desirable.
- Strong IT and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused attitude
- Willingness to complete relevant training and competencies for the GPA role.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
