      Job summary

This is a new exciting role, working for the East Kennet PCN based at Ramsbury & Wanborough Surgery.

The role of the GPA is varied and a mixture of clinical and administrative duties. It is a part time role, Wednesday - Friday. No two days will be the same!

As this is a new role, it will continue to evolve and other duties and responsibilities are likely to be added over time.

      Main duties of the job

This relatively new role to the NHS combines administrative duties and hands on clinical work. The role will support the GPs in the smooth running of clinics by performing the more routine administration (including clerical support) and clinical tasks (such as vaccinations and promoting a healthy lifestyle). The GPA will be part of the multidisciplinary team providing excellent care to patients.

      The postholder will:

      • Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner.
      • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, and other associated healthcare agencies.
      • Review patients needs and help them access the services and support they require.

      About us

This role will join a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team of GPs, nurses, HCA's and administrative staff. Ramsbury Surgery is based on the outskirts of the village and serves a rural population.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
