Job Description

- Under general supervision, supports the handling and sales of state surplus property in the performance of storekeeper activities.
- Performs storekeeper activities for State Surplus Property sectional program.
- Provides guidance and assistance to State staff in taking physical inventories by recording, updating, deleting, and archiving inventory records, checking balances against perpetual inventory records, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Operates equipment including forklift, hand trucks, dollies, etc., for the moving and loading/unloading of equipment, weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Prepares the warehouse for both surplus property and auctions.
- Serves as designated lead worker.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
- Requires two (2) years’ experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
- Prefers extensive knowledge of storekeeping and warehousing methods and procedures in the receipt, storage, and shipment/transfer of a variety of goods.
- Prefers working knowledge of operating a digital camera.
- Prefers working knowledge of template-based software and online Internet applications.
- Prefers a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or comparable word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and assist with lifting to 75 pounds.
- Requires the ability to operate forklift equipment.
- Requires ability to travel occasionally in the performance of duties. Requires a valid driver’s license.

Position Summary
The Central Management Services Division of Surplus Property Control is seeking to hire a professional Storekeeper II to support the General Sales Program by using a computer, peripheral IT technology, and camera to photograph, write descriptions, and upload information to the online sales system known as Assetworks (online inventory) and iBid (online auction system) to create on-line auctions. This position will also perform a variety of other storekeeper activities for the State Surplus Property sectional program. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, capable of maintaining thorough records, and have a moderate understanding of electronic online sales operations.
