      School Summary:

      Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition-free, full-time virtual school for students in grades K-12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by Cognia, and GACA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.

      Position Summary and Responsibilities:

      Georgia Connections Academy is seeking a highly organized and dynamic Program Coordinator to join our Federal Programs Department. The program coordinator is a 12-month position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal programs, program management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting student and parent engagement initiatives. The Program Coordinator will play oversee the implementation of Title I and Title IV programs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and guidelines. The position performs routine grants management functions including overseeing financial administration such as tracking expenditures, maintaining adequate internal control systems, performing budget analysis, and adhering to grant funding procedures to efficiently record, summarizing and report the result of financial activities.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Serve as the secondary point of contact for all communication related to federal programs, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information to all stakeholders.
      • Develop and maintain communication strategies to engage parents, staff, and community members in federal program initiatives.
      • Provide parents with essential information and resources to support their understanding of federal programs and how they can participate.
      • Develop and share the District newsletter with staff, students, parents, and community partners
      • Work with Department leads to build a collection of information to share on the school District Newsletter
      • Manage the Parent Engagement Team provide support to staff and address concerns if/as they arise.
      • Collaborate with Parent Engagement Team members to plan and execute activities aimed at fostering parent involvement in the educational process.
      • Co-lead the Summer Parent Orientation program with the Director of Federal Programs to organize staffing, develop training materials, and coordinate logistics.
      • Work closely with the Federal Programs Administrative Assistant to book locations/lodging for staff members that are working through the Summer Parent Orientation program.
      • Oversee the implementation of Title I and Title IV programs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
      • Support the Parent Engagement Specialist in building parent capacity through workshops, training sessions, and resource development.
      • Supervise the Parent Engagement Specialist, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the successful execution of their responsibilities.
      • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the Federal Programs Department.
      • Review and edit the Federal Programs Handbook annually
      • Support the Director of Federal Programs with building community partnerships.

      Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
      • Tier I Leadership (preferred or in program to complete Leadership Certification)
      • Strong understanding of federal education programs, particularly Title I and Title IV.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
      • Proven leadership abilities, including experience supervising staff and leading teams.
      • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
      • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends as required by program needs.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
