      Join our Completions & Wellbore Intervention Team

      The Global Application Engineer is responsible for providing product/service technical support to ensure Baker Hughes can deliver flawless execution. This role works in close collaboration with global portfolio management and engineering functions, as well as regional service delivery and sales/commercial teams to ensure product selection is optimal to meet client requirements. The Application Engineer shares their subject matter expertise within our organization and externally with our customers to provide solutions and to provide technical support and troubleshooting for any potential incidents.

      As Global Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:

      • Provide technical and application support to global requests
      • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in Upper Completions product segment with emphasis on Subsurface Safety Systems technologies
      • Provide sales support and product application recommendations
      • Develop and deliver training for field specialists, engineers, and office-based support personnel
      • Train customers on new and existing products and services
      • Accurately document calculations, simulations, and plan revisions, ensuring compliance with Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process
      • Lead incident investigations to identify the root causes and drive corrective actions
      • Ensure timely incident management for fast customer issue resolution and cash collection
      • Identify product improvement opportunities for repetitive component/product failures
      • Participate in product design reviews, ensuring product introductions consider training and technical documentation needs for post introduction support
      • Collaborate with engineering community to facilitate knowledge transfer and promote global standards, developing and teaching training courses on complete product portfolio
      • Participate in special projects related to the product segment

      To be successful in this role you will have:

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited university or relevant industry experience within product line
      • Minimum 10+ years of relevant work experience in Upper Completions technologies with an emphasis on Subsurface Safety Systems technologies
      • Excellent leadership, strong interpersonal, influencing and planning skills.
      • Demonstrated ability to work in a global matrix organization, and to travel globally for customer meetings, operations and rig site support, etc.
      • Self-contained, self-motivated, and structured to work within a global, interdisciplinary team under limited supervision with a strong commitment to learning

      Desired Characteristics:

      • Preferred prior experience includes roles such as: field/remote engineer, product development, applications engineer or other technical disciplines
      • Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, strong facilitation and presentation skills.
      • Previous experience in presenting detailed and technical information preferred.
      • Project Management Skills including advanced problem-solving skills with respect to Applied Engineering, Design and Technology Development.
      • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Power Point, Excel, etc.)
