      Job Purpose and Impact

      The Global Category Specialist - IT Software will be part of Cargill's Procurement and Transportation Function's Global IT Sourcing Category Team. Specific responsibilities include strategic negotiations, ongoing contract management and commercial governance with Cargill Digital Technology & Data (DT&D) Function's strategic software/cloud suppliers. To accomplish this, the role will partner with DT&D function leaders (including the CIDO leadership team) and Cargill Law. Additionally, responsibilities encompass cross-regional sourcing activities including leading of RFPs and contract negotiations with existing and new software/cloud suppliers. In this role, you will strategically manage regional and global stakeholders and key supplier relationships in alignment with the category strategy.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Develop and implement the overall short and long term category sourcing strategy in line with business objectives globally and regionally.
      • Negotiate and interpret complex software and cloud agreements, including related services agreements. For assigned strategic relationships: Manage contracts end-to-end, track key obligations/dependencies across contract documents, and track commercial pipeline activity with supplier to help inform broader sourcing strategy.
      • Provide category expertise to internal and external senior stakeholders to cultivate strong partnership, align and lead strategy changes and drive continuous improvement for defined category management.
      • Foster key regional supplier relationships by the resolution of implementation issues and leadership of major negotiations or workshops with suppliers.
      • Engage senior stakeholders and category buyers to execute category strategy.
      • Lead category portfolio management by defining performance measurement standards and the implementation of standardized procedures.
      • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
      • Minimum of six years of related work experience in a multi-national organization, including IT sourcing and contract management experience.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain and strategic sourcing
      • Demonstrated understanding of contract language and its interpretation as well as contract negotiation process
      • Contracting experience with global enterprise software agreements, including in the SaaS space
      • Supplier relationship management and governance
      • Financial Acumen (e.g., deal cash flow analysis, industry economics and trends, etc.)
      • Experience leading global and regional projects, aligning stakeholders and driving category initiatives.
