      About the role:

      Are you looking for a patient-focused, innovation-driven company that will inspire you and empower you to shine? Join us as the Global Commercial Lead (GCL) – TAK-279 at the Senior Director level in our Cambridge, MA office.

      This position sits in the Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) group which is part of our Global Portfolio Division comprised of approximately 10,000 employees spanning over 70 countries. Our GPLS organization is responsible for our global product strategy organization focused on fueling the growth of Takeda through our inline portfolio strategy and focus on the life cycle management as well as on launching the future by focusing on our rich pipeline. Our key goal is to prepare to commercialize our unprecedented pipeline that includes best-in-class or in first-class therapies, many of which have complex or under-developed markets or therapy areas.

      Takeda recently announced an agreement with Nimbus Therapeutics to acquire Nimbus’s oral, selective allosteric tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) inhibitor, which is being evaluated in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. Takeda plans to investigate it for the treatment of IBD and other autoimmune diseases.

      How you will contribute:

      The Global Commercial Lead (GCL), TAK-279 will:

      • Create, own and execute the global commercial vision and strategy for the global launch of the TAK-279 plaque psoriasis indication

      • Lead Commercial sub-team of Global Product Team and other forums and secure cross-functional / regional alignment on adoption of global brand strategy, appropriately tailored to regional needs.

      • Develop/refine global long-range planning, business metrics, and brand goals

      Develop and deliver global product commercial strategies, plans and budget recommendations:

      • Act as the lead commercial voice on Global Product Team (GPT), partnering with R&D and other functions to produce a cross-functional strategy

      • Lead development of commercial and launch strategy for plaque psoriasis, the lead indication for TAK-279, including yearly brand planning cycle.

      • Successfully work in a matrixed organization to generate actionable market, payor, HCP and patient insights, and support global evidence generation. Ensure the patient is at the center of all decision-making.

      • Continue to refine and test the TPP, developing a differentiated position that is sustainable in the competitive psoriasis marketplace

      • Partner closely with global & regional market access, medical, and evidence & outcomes teams in developing the pricing and value proposition, ensuring broad and sustainable access while maximizing asset value

      • Work with regulatory and R&D on the Target Label Profile, ensuring data is generated to enable the inclusion of key label claims needed for patient, HCP and payor adoption.

      • Assess digital landscape, determining the need for any digital strategies and/or products to enhance the value proposition of TAK-279

      • Work closely with the New Product Lead to ensure disease area strategies are developed with consideration given to subsequent indications

      • Prepare materials and represent the team at governance meetings, executive updates, and both internal and external-facing events

      Leadership of the cross-functional Core Launch Team, with over 10 different functions, on the strategic direction for brand adoption across the globe:

      • Lead Commercial Sub-Team and participate on other relevant sub-teams (market access, evidence generation, medical)

      • Build and foster meaningful relationships and interactions with cross-functional team members, including regions and key LOC

      • Develop relationships and interact with cross-functional team members, and provide customer insights and patient centricity into all decision making

      • Create a high performing team culture that inspires purpose driven performance transparency in sharing information, honoring commitments, sharing opinions openly, keeping confidences and unity around shared decisions

      • Clear the path for team on key initiatives

      • Accountable for elevating key issues and driving decisions, with the expectation of quick escalation to leadership when necessary

      Effectively build and lead direct TAK-279 psoriasis launch team:

      • Build staffing plan using both internal and external benchmarks, and attract and hire a high-performing team

      • Lead, manage and coach direct reports to improve overall skill set and growth and development (manage individual performance) to ensure down-stream execution

      Launch execution and brand leadership aligned with the regions and LOC:

      • Work within established launch framework to lead development of cross-functional launch strategy and plans

      • Establish brand identity, name, and campaign, coordinating activities with regional commercial teams with to ensure their input is taken into account for critical decisions

      • Manage timely delivery of expected programs and tools to facilitate Regional and LOC launch preparedness and competitive readiness

      • Partner with key LOCs to ensure successful launch, capture and share best practices, and adapt and shape global launch strategy based on learnings in first launch markets

      Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

      • University degree in marketing/business or life sciences required

      • 15+ years of Global and regional brand management experience in pharmaceutical industry

      • Proficient in all aspects of global marketing with direct global experience in immunology; dermatology required

      • Managing teams – across cultures, borders and functions; including hiring, performance management and conflict resolution

      • Country level experience and /or region level experience required

      • US experience experience preferred.

      • Excellent communication/influencing skills

      • Ability to travel up to 25%; international and domestic for internal and external meetings

      • Demonstrated ability to launch into a competitive marketplace, including scenario planning, war-gaming and counter-messaging

      • Excellent knowledge of relevant functional areas (e.g. market research, market access, medical affairs, etc.)

      • Excellent knowledge of US market, including US competitive landscape and market access environment

      • Business acumen, with a strong appreciation for cross-cultural and cross-functional differences; international (global) experience required

      • Ability to understand and interpret medical information; strong knowledge of evidence-based medicine

      • Building and leading teams – managing with and without authority; working in matrix organizations and managing remotely

      • Strong experience with digital marketing and developing omni-channel engagement strategies

      • Strong analytic skills, including interpretation of clinical data, primary and secondary market research, forecasts, P&L and operating expense profiles.

      • Direct people management experience required; coaching and feedback, people development

      • Strong organizational skills and managing up and down

      • Learning agility, curiosity (aptitude for new technologies)

      • Adaptable to and comfortable with change on personal and organizational level

      • Demonstrable ability to present to large groups and executives; able to translate complex data into actionable messages

      • Listening and understanding skills; ability to comprehend stakeholders’ points of view

      • Can thrive under pressure, leading one of Takeda’s flagship products

      • Ability to confidently make decisions on both global program team and commercial sub-team level
