- Lead scenario valuations and forecasting, including building the business model
- Conduct Commercial risk assessment
- Evaluate Commercial role of the project(s) in the Obesity market and its impact on the Obesity Portfolio
- 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including important roles in the commercial area
- Strategic thinking skills
- Stakeholder management skills: the candidate should thrive in complex, fast changing and paced environment
- Valuation, forecasting and business modeling experience
- Proficient in the development of commercial strategy, evaluating patients and HCP insights, connecting them to Target Product Profiles.
- Communication skills, where fluency in written and spoken English is a must.

The position
Novo Nordisk recently started the development of future possible Obesity assets: it is an exciting mix of company acquisitions (such as Inversago Pharma), partnership (such as the one with General Electric Healthcare) or from the internal pipeline.The primary role of Global Commercial Strategy Lead is to ensure the future success of one or more of these development projects by driving Obesity Commercial Strategy inputs into the Product Development Plan, e.g. developing the Target Product Profile and its optionality’s, assessing the value of the product in the Novo Nordisk Obesity portfolio, and participating in strategic portfolio assessments, as assigned.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you either should have a Master’s/Ph.D. in economics combined with extensive skills in natural science or a Master’s/Ph.D. in chemistry, medicine, biology, or pharmacy combined with an MBA / strong commercial experience and understanding. Pharmaceuticals Commercial experience is a key qualification element to succeed in this role.

About the department
The key purpose of the Obesity Strategy & Projects Department is to provide strategic and commercial guidance to the product development pipeline and to lead all Commercial actions linked to product development to sustain and expand leadership in obesity. Furthermore, the department ensures that commercial deliverables and insights are in place to support key R&D and Commercial project decisions in order to compete in the marketplace but also be consistent with the overarching portfolio play.
The Obesity Strategy & Projects dept. drives advanced analyses such as disease segment opportunity mapping, project portfolio analyses, disease landscaping analyses, key competitor analyses, disease segment asset explorations, peak sales analyses, and full business case analyses for individual projects, linking these analyses to the Target Product Profiles. Roles in Obesity Strategy & Projects are in general very dynamic, complex, and multifaceted, dealing with the Obesity portfolio play in the disease area and managing implications and trade offs with others (such as diabetes, CVDs, …).
