Global Head of Investigations (New Health Care Company)

3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. This new Health Care Company will be a leading global diversified health technology company with:

• Proven category leadership

• Strong sales growth and profitability with significant recurring sales

We expect the creation of the two companies will be completed by the end of 2023. For now, we will continue to operate as one global company. This role is positioned to drive the success of the "New Health Care Company”.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the Global Investigations Leader you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading a global investigations team that is integral to the company’s overall compliance program.
• Responding to ethics and compliance concerns raised through the hotline.
• Assessing and investigating concerns as appropriate with independence and integrity.
• Understanding trends and themes from reported concerns and offering recommendations to address the gaps identified.
• Managing the team supporting the investigation process and developing the team members to improve their acumen and the performance of the investigation process.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university

OR

• High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of sixteen (16) years of experience in investigations
• Eight (8) years of litigation or investigations experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Five (5) years of experience in a private, public, government or military job conducting internal investigations.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and foster collaboration with colleagues in partner groups within legal affairs, corporate audit, global security, and human resources.
• Understand the need for integrity, independence, confidentiality, discretion, and timeliness in conducting internal investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct verbal briefings of senior leadership.
• Maintain an external focus through benchmarking and networking in the corporate compliance and investigations community.
• Ensure investigations meet or exceed best-practice standards, including use of case management systems, reporting tools, and data analytics to optimize team effectiveness and efficiency.
