      Are you ready to be at the forefront of medical innovation? We are looking for a Global Medical Affairs Leader (GMAL) to join our Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit. This is a strategic business role, where you will use your unique medical expertise and insights from markets, healthcare professionals, patients and health systems to develop and execute world-class medical strategies for AstraZeneca medicines and market-shaping teams, globally. You will be a key member of the Global Medical Team (GMT) within a specific brand and/or disease area, acting as a strategic partner and leader across the medical enterprise, R&D and commercial functions.       Accountabilities

      As a GMAL, you will serve as a conduit between the Global Product Team (GPT) and Medical teams in the Regions (US, EU-Canada & International) and major markets. Your role will ensure that the needs of the marketing company affiliates, healthcare professionals and patients are recognized in ambitious Global product and disease area strategies. You will also ensure that medical teams around the world are equipped to deliver outstanding product launches, transform health systems, deliver practice-defining studies and real-world evidence, and accelerate delivery of AstraZeneca clinical trials. You will be expected to deliver prerequisites for an outstanding product launch – strategy, scientific narrative, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – with an ability to critically assess performance against launch objectives and proactively take remedial action.

      Essential Skills/Experience:

      • Masters degree with 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Medical, Marketing, R&D, Market access roles), or experience working within in a relevant health system setting (clinical, pharmacy, pathway design etc.)

      • Demonstration of strategic and medical leadership prowess pre- and post- product launch, including ability to define evidence needs, create compelling scientific narratives & strategy, influence & mobilise others.

      Desirable Skills/Experience:

      • Doctoral level degree: MD, PhD, or PharmD

      • Expertise in the relevant or related TA

      • Experience of delivering results in a complex environment

      • Experience launching new products or indications

      • Strong working relationships with global clinical thought leaders, professional societies and other healthcare industries/organizations

      • Proven ability to build internal and external networks and to collaborate

      • Evidence generation experience—working on clinical trials or real-world evidence programs
