Global Medical Subcategory Lead Vitamins Mineral and Supplements m/f/d

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proactively strives in the assigned area of responsibility for development and maintenance of comprehensive understanding of the current and emerging science/medical insights and unmet needs, state of the art clinical trials methodologies/endpoints in VMS (Vitamins, Mineral & Supplements), including respective treatment and prevention for medicines, clinical benefits for food supplements and self-care measures contributing to better health outcomes.
• Defines and coordinates relevant medical/scientific activities for new product developments as well as product maintenance/life cycle management (clinical studies, publications, scientific congresses, Investigator Initiated Research IIRs) in the VMS (Vitamins, Mineral & Supplements) category in alignment with the category strategy.
• Engages and leads the development of the strategy for key opinion leader management in line with category strategic objectives and in compliance with legislation and Bayer Consumer Health (BCH) policies, e.g., advisory boards, scientific symposia, webinars.
• Owns and co-ordinates benefit/risk assessment for assigned products, existing and new, assuming leadership for medical input to core labelling and pharmacovigilance documents (e.g., global source texts, company core data sheets, risk management plans, regular benefit risk evaluation reports).
• Coordinates the preparation of medical documents for submission to regulatory authorities in the assigned portfolio, incl. updates of existing dossiers for food supplements, OTC products, and Medical Devices.
• Is responsible for the discussions and activities on the professional development plan of her/his direct reports to ensure efficient contribution to the area and enable career progression. Provides technical and personal development leadership.
• Acts as delegate for Medical Category Head on medical governance of VMS (Vitamins, Mineral & Supplements) e.g., in Protocol Review/Evidence Generation Committee.
• Ensures customer centric approach in line with identified medical needs throughout all initiatives, embraces the 4 company’s focus behaviors, Experimentation, Collaboration, Customer Focus and Trust and builds appropriate relationships internally and externally.
• Is working with Global Category Business Units, develops a mid to long-term medical/clinical strategy which maximizes brand and portfolio business opportunities for BCH (including, but not limited to new products, indications, claims, messaging, and registration). Leads the managers to develop products' positioning from the medical perspective and indications grounded on proven efficacy/clinical benefit to enable differentiation based on the assessment of the competitive landscape.
• Supports development (jointly with Director) and applies appropriate metrics to track and benchmark clinical development strategy activities against internal and external best practices.

WHO YOU ARE

• Education (PhD, MD, PharmD) in natural sciences, Pharmacy, Biology, Medicine, Chemistry
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in consumer healthcare or pharmaceutical organization, in a local or global scientific/medical function
• Experience in VMS (Vitamins, Mineral & Supplements): Consumer healthcare product and strategic development environment
• Strong and flexible team player
• Experience of leading and participating in cross-functional teams across different cultures and geographies
• Ability to understand matters at strategic as well as operational level
• Ability to lead and influence in matrixed teams with strong relationship building and influencing skills and executive presence
• Experience in due diligences for new products or acquisitions
• Strong in building relationships, including external KOLs
• Strong global mindset, business acumen and organizational savviness
• Global understanding of regulations and guidelines in OTC, Food supplement and Medical Devices
• Fluency in written and verbal English
• Strong communication skills
