- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop market strategy and Corporate Responsibility’s broader inclusive economic development agenda, with focus on the firm’s impact pillars Business Growth & Entrepreneurship, Careers & Skills and Financial Health, as well as cross-cutting topics like digitalization and sustainability.
- Develop and maintain a productive network of professional relationships with key government, philanthropic, business, and nonprofit leaders
- Respond to social, political and economic changes that may impact the firm’s programs and/or our broader reputation as a result of our philanthropic activities.
- Think creatively about the firm’s assets and tools, identify opportunities for firmwide collaboration to drive impact
- Work in partnership with J.P. Morgan country management committees, cross-CR partners and other JPM functions (including HR, Communications) and Lines of Business, to build strong local oversight and business engagement, as well as specific plans to activate the grants portfolio amongst internal and external stakeholders to maximize awareness and visibility
- Communicate the firm’s approach to expanding economic opportunity and Global Philanthropy initiatives to multiple internal constituencies
- Develop, manage and execute philanthropic programs, in collaboration with community partners, that advance the firm’s philanthropic ambitions in Germany and potentially other specified EMEA countries. Monitor grant progress and use insights from performance to shape future direct strategy
- Provide regular governance reporting on impact progress (both financial and non-financial contributions), produce management decks and briefings
- Understand the risk profile of the grant portfolio and propose the right level of mitigation; escalate controls issues with partners appropriately
- Plan convening, evaluation and communications activities; share and reflect on experiences in the field and related program activity
- Deep knowledge of and experience in economic inclusion programs with focus in social mobility, employment and labor market programs, and/or support for small businesses incl. access to finance.
- Extensive previous relevant work experience in program development, implementation and/or policy in non-profit, corporate, and/or government environment
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about solving structural issues, as well as program design and implementation
- Understanding of grant making and the non-profit sector; ability to assess track record and capacity of not for profit organizations
- Excellent relationship management and people skills. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) complex ideas and professional perspective to diverse audiences
- Creative, flexible, and collaborative style with an ability to work in a team-oriented environment; demonstrate a high degree of initiative; results-oriented
- Proficiency in German and English

Job Summary
As a Vice President in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Global Philanthropy team, you will lead the market strategy for Germany, and play a major role in executing that strategy; develop and manage a grant portfolio and establish external relationships to advance strategic priorities; and build internal allies within J. P. Morgan Chase to identify opportunities for firmwide collaboration. The Vice President will report to the Executive Director and co-head of EMEA for Global Philanthropy.
